Vernon Wray Biography

Vernon WrayBorn: June 12 1933 Dunn, North Carolina and brother of Link Wray.

Biography: Vernon (stage name Ray Vernon) Wray’s biggest hit was “Evil Angel” on Cameo in 1958. He was manager of Link Wray and The Wraymen. Produced most of the records of Link Wray. Vernon was an engineer and owned his own recording studio in Washington, DC. He had a beautiful voice and might have gone on to a successful recording career had he not chosen to manage and operate his own record company.

Current Status: Passed on.

Inducted: September 11, 07 at the First Annual Inductions Awards Ceremony in Oklahoma, City, OK. Beth Wray Webb received the induction for her late uncle Ray Vernon.
